Gert is currently group risk manager for SAPPI Ltd, serves as a Director for Ferroshure (South Africa) and is a Fellow for the Institute or Risk Management SA. He has held senior positions with Mittal Steel Group, Iscor Group, Risk Management Federation of SA (President), SA Risk and Insurance Management Assoc, and has served on the boards of Ferroshure (Isle of Man), Ispat International Insurance Company (Guernsey) and the Risk Management Workgroup of the King 2 and King 3 Committee on Corporate Governance.
